Job description:

Your job as a Business Development Director is to identify sales leads, pitch blocks or services to new clients and maintain a good working relationship with new contacts.
If the thought of sitting behind a desk all day gives you itchy feet, this could be the job for you as you’ll be required to spend a large amount of time visiting clients and attending networking events. You’ll usually work office hours, Monday to Friday but there are often part-time or flexible working opportunities too.

When you are dealing with a new business, the job requires a lot of creative thinking to spot new opportunities and to establish rapid growth within the new marketplace and it’s very satisfying when the development strategy pays off and the results can be clearly seen. This is no job for shy, retiring types as you’ll need to be bursting with self-confidence, love networking and enjoy presenting and public speaking.

In this role, your responsibilities are:

  • Form in-depth knowledge of our products and market demands
  • Overseeing sales and business development staff, tasks and department outcomes
  • Build and implement strategies accelerating the sustainable growth of the company
  • Develop a highly connected network of clients and partners within targeted European markets
  • Create sales documents and presentations to solicit new clients and structure customised services to suit their business needs
  • Close deals with new clients and handle communication and negotiations with the existing ones
  • Manage key strategic client relationships
  • Attend industry events and represent Bankingblocks as a knowledge specialist and brand ambassador
  • Ensure that the sales information and data records are clear and in best quality
  • Build, develop and manage a healthy sales pipeline

Required Skills:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in business development or other commercial roles in the payments, banking or fintech industry
  • Ability to build strong and meaningful and trustworthy relationships
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ease and openness in making new connections
  • The drive and ambition to drive the fast-growing organisation’s commercial expansion
  • Self-motivated and proactive team player
  • A strong interest in fintech industry and new technologies
  • Commercial awareness and strategic mindset
  • Strong time management skills, problem-solving approach
  • Proficiency in English, knowledge of any other European language would be a plus but not essential
  • Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, PowerPoint and Word with the ability to create high-quality proposals, presentations and graphs
