In this role, you will?

In this role you will work in a ‘start-up’ environment based in our HQ in Amsterdam office. As the Financial Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for all (financial) reporting and administrative matters of Bankingblocks and supports the daily activities. In addition, the F&A Officer participates in the oversight controls on the activities delegated to third parties and will support his or her colleagues in projects.

This includes and are not limited to the following tasks:

  • You will maintain various ledgers; keep accurate records of all transactions, process invoices, billing, control of accounts payable and accounts receivable, treasury and reconciliation;
  • You will prepare regulatory reporting, corporate & VAT tax fillings;
  • You will perform financial analysis and assist with budget preparation;
  • You will participate in internal and external audits;
  • You will prepare tax declarations and reports;
  • You will be responsible for the operational administration duties: implementation and optimization of procedures, contacts with external parties, contracts & Legal documentation management;
  • You will closely collaborate with your Bankingblocks colleagues as well as with third parties in daily activities and in the implementation of projects.

What do you offer?

  • You must have a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Financial administration;
  • You must have a minimum of 3+ years proven working experience, preferably in the financial services industry;
  • You are an advanced Microsoft Office user;
  • You have experience with financial software;
  • You are proficient with the VAT and Tax procedures;
  • You have a deep understanding and knowledge of GAAP & IFRS methodologies;
  • You are autonomous, proactive, flexible, pragmatic and have a ‘can-do’ mentality;
  • You are a team player with good communication and interpersonal skills. You will work in a small team but you are able to connect with different stakeholders;
  • You have solid organisational skills;
  • You quickly get an overview of tasks, determine priorities and connect the dots;
  • You can speak English and another European language, preferably French.
